Associate Professor Jarryd Pla works at the intersection of semiconductor spin qubits, superconducting circuits and quantum microwave technology. His work develops the devices and measurement techniques required to control individual quantum systems and connect them across larger computing architectures.

At UNSW Sydney, Associate Professor Pla leads the Quantum Engineering Laboratory and is an ARC Future Fellow. As QPI Research Pillar 3 Lead, he coordinates the Centre's research on integrated quantum architectures. His QPI program will investigate protected spin qubits, microwave photon technologies, non-local interactions, quantum transduction and new approaches to connecting quantum processors within and between hardware modules.

Associate Professor Pla's cross-platform expertise places him at the intersection of several of QPI's central research challenges. By bringing together semiconductor, superconducting and microwave systems, he will help develop practical interfaces between different forms of quantum hardware and support the transition from isolated laboratory devices towards modular, scalable and resource-efficient quantum computers.
