Dr Maja CassidyDr Maja Cassidy

Dr Maja Cassidy brings together superconducting electronics, semiconductor devices and microwave engineering to address the challenge of integrating quantum hardware into larger systems. Her work addresses the practical and scientific challenges involved in controlling, connecting and scaling quantum systems.

At UNSW Sydney, Dr Cassidy is an ARC DECRA Fellow developing new quantum technologies at the interface of superconducting electronics, microwave engineering and semiconductor devices. As QPI Deputy Director for Innovation and Translation, she leads the Centre's engagement with industry and its efforts to transform research discoveries into practical technologies. Her research within QPI will include protected superconducting qubits, low-noise microwave devices, non-local qubit connections and new approaches to transferring quantum information between modules.

Dr Cassidy brings extensive international industry experience, including leading Microsoft's Quantum Hardware Integration team. This combination of research, engineering and commercial expertise positions her to guide QPI researchers through technology development, intellectual property, industry collaboration and the translation of breakthrough quantum science into real-world impact.
