Dr Sergei Slussarenko is an experimental physicist working in discrete-variable quantum photonics. His research develops high-performance tools for generating and manipulating quantum states of light, quantum measurement protocols, and methods for distributing entanglement and quantum information reliably across optical networks.

At Griffith University, Dr Slussarenko is an ARC Future Fellow and Senior Lecturer in the Queensland Quantum and Advanced Technologies Research Institute. For QPI, he will develop optical and light-matter quantum interfaces, high-efficiency sources of photonic entanglement, and methods for connecting separate quantum computing modules, spanning both discrete- and continuous-variable systems.

His track record includes landmark demonstrations of quantum-enhanced measurement beyond the shot-noise limit, optical phase estimation at the Heisenberg limit, and quantum communication protocols that outperform direct photon transmission through lossy channels - results that established fundamental performance benchmarks now driving the design of practical quantum networks.
