Dr Xanthe CrootDr Xanthe Croot

Dr Xanthe Croot combines semiconductor and superconducting technologies to develop quantum hardware that is intrinsically more resilient to error. Her work brings together device physics, microwave engineering and quantum control.

At the University of Sydney, Dr Croot is an ARC Senior Research Fellow investigating superconducting circuits for error-resilient quantum computers. Within the Centre, she will develop protected superconducting qubits, high-fidelity control and readout methods, and microwave-mediated connections between qubits. Her research will also explore how semiconductor and superconducting technologies can be integrated to combine the complementary strengths of different quantum platforms.

Dr Croot is active in quantum education and public engagement. As chair of QPI's Outreach and Education subcommittee, she will oversee initiatives connecting Centre researchers with students, teachers and public audiences, including programs designed to broaden participation in physics and quantum technology.
