Sukhjit P. Singh is a PhD researcher in quantum optics at Griffith University's Quantum Optics and Information Laboratory (QOIL), having completed a Bachelor's in Physics and Master's in Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Pisa. During his Master's research, he worked in experimental atomic physics, investigating inter-state facilitation in Rydberg atoms.
His current research focuses on photonic quantum information, quantum metrology, and the heralded generation of entangled states of photons. During his PhD, he led the first experimental demonstration of a heralded three-mode NOON state using linear optics, single photons, and superconducting nanowire detectors, and helped develop novel heralded schemes for generating multimode NOON states and three-mode Humphreys states. He has presented nationally as an invited speaker at the Australian Institute of Physics (AIP) 2024 Congress and as a contributing speaker at the CQC2T Optics Workshop 2025, and internationally at the 2nd DPG Fall Meeting held to celebrate 100 Years of Quantum Mechanics (2025).
Alongside mentoring junior researchers and teaching undergraduate physics, he has engaged public audiences as a science communicator, presenting at the World Science Festival's GabLab in Brisbane.
